Welcome to the Giving Opportunities section of our site. Here you will find exciting giving opportunities that can make a marked difference in the lives of our ministry partners and those they serve in Malawi. These special funding requests are needs that have been submitted by our Malawian ministry partners and then carefully researched and finally approved for funding by the Y-Malawi Bridge Team. This team invests many hours of thoughtful preparation before we present these giving opportunities to you. All of these requests will be funded on a first-come, first-served basis. Projects may be funded by your church, small group, school, or even personally, but we ask that with your financial contribution, you make a commitment to praying for your chosen project.
God bless you for your interest in helping our ministry partners and the warm people of Malawi!
Giving Life Through the Indigenous Doctor Program
It is our duty and our ultimate desire to see the Indigenous Doctor Program functioning at its greatest capacity. Doctor retention has been an issue in the past, and you can imagine how it would affect an already understaffed hospital if there was one less doctor there to be able to treat patients each day. The funding you provide will go to ensuring that these doctors are able to continue serving the poorest of the poor in our Y-Malawi Project Area, with modest pay raises each year, while also growing in their medical knowledge with specific advanced medical training courses. Full-Time Worker Development Funding Request
Our call-to-action at this time is for you or your church to partner with us in giving $1,292 to send 3 full-time FTS workers to receive formal training at the Malawi Institute of Management (MIM). The workers sent to MIM will receive valuable information through courses in Leadership and Management Training, that will aid them in various duties needed in their ministry work. We will no doubt receive reports soon after of how the FTS workers are impacting the ADPs, but that will only be the beginning of the multitude of stories we will hear in heaven about the snowball effect these workers created through their ministry. Leadership Training – Funding Request for Equipping Godly Leaders
Delegates are responsible for figuring out how to arrive at the training site on time, which can be a very difficult task due to fuel shortages or lack of transportation altogether. However, once they arrive, their accommodations will be covered so they are free to focus on how the Holy Spirit wants to move through them throughout the seminar. Your donation will cover the cost of food, accommodations, transportation and fuel while they are there, toiletries, blankets and materials for the seminar. We are asking that you help equip these 65 leaders looking to impact and influence their communities for Christ. Read More
New Jesus Film Equipment – Special Request for Funding
For $8,700 you can enable FTS to purchase brand new film projection equipment and durable travel-safe containers that will work and continue working for many years to come. By replacing dated, haggard equipment, you’re giving thousands and thousands of people the opportunity to be transformed by the Gospel. Over the past 3 years, the average number of people FTS exposed to the Jesus film (even with their old equipment) was $9,880 per year! Comparing that with $8,700, you’re exposing a person to the gospel for $0.88. And that’s just one year…what if this equipment worked for 10 years at that average—that’s $0.09 per person! I’d say it’s worth it, wouldn’t you? Read More
Partner Sustainability Through Funding of a Maize Mill
This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of because it ensures that the important work of our Chief’s ministry will continue long into the future. $15,902 goes to the purchase of a plot of land, building materials and labor costs to construct the building to house the equipment, obtaining the actual Maize Mill with delivery and installation, as well as electricity installation. Reach the Child – Funding to Impact the Future of Malawi for Christ
We are seeking $21,739 for the next year of funding for this incredible program. The funds will go directly to the further training of FTS workers, evangelizing to the children of the Nkhoma and Chilenje areas, and will be used for materials needed for Kids Clubs, Sunday School and the various child outreaches that FTS performs. FTS is daily striving to effectively minister to the large number of kids already registered and so that more are given the opportunity to participate as well. How will you take part in seeing that countless more of these precious children come to know Jesus? Read More
Share the Word of God Through Funding for Bibles and Literature
Your contribution will lead to the distribution of 800 Bibles in Nkhoma, Chilenje and other areas, to identified study groups, as well as to new believers in evangelism outreaches conducted by FTS. Additionally, it will go towards over 300 Talking Bibles that are a revolutionary way to bring the gospel to those who cannot read. Finally, funds will be used for tract, brochure and Bible Study guideline development to be used and distributed in Follow-up ministry after outreach events. Read More
Training for Evangelism – Special Request for Funding
We are seeking $6,555 to meet the needs of FTS’s upcoming seminars. Funding this project will provide food, housing, stationary and books, firewood, blankets and materials to wash their clothes for the ten days they are there so they are free to focus on what God has planned for their lives and how they can reach others. Take part in what God will do through the lives of these 60 people as they take the gospel into the many unreached parts of Malawi and beyond! Read More
Funding for Mukani Guest House Construction
A gift given towards this project will see that the Guest House Wing One slab is finalized, and the foundation on Wing Two can begin and brought up to slab level. The Mukani Center is a project that has been exciting to watch unfold as funding is transformed into completed buildings used daily, and as teams from the US are able to participate in the actual building process. We can’t wait to see the extent of how the Guest Houses will be used for retreats and how the entire Mukani center will assist our partners in their ministry work in Malawi. Read More
Development of the Nehemiah Youth Hostels and Training Center
The entire continent of Africa is threatened by the danger that handouts create. Handouts are coercing Africans into idleness and a sense of entitlement. Why mention this as part of the background for the Youth Center? It’s because the vision of this center was cast with this danger in mind. The CCAP Nkhoma Youth Department has a two-fold hope for the production of these hostels and training center: 1) To create a healthy and adequate infrastructure for trainings and events for youth. 2) Also, to create a revenue-generating and fully sustainable structure that would free the Youth Department from seeking ongoing grants, loans and help from Y-Malawi and other NGOs. Running the Y-Malawi Vehicle for a Full Year
Anybody who has come to Nkhoma with Y-Malawi has had the wonderful privilege of meeting Peter. Peter is a kind, servant-hearted, and rather hilarious Malawian employed by Y-Malawi as the year-round driver of the minibus. He takes incredible pride in his job and the bus itself. The two things you’ll see Peter doing most is smiling and cleaning the bus (if he’s not driving, that is). Although he would be the last person to take any credit for it, if you talk to Peter long enough you will learn that Peter, not married, is supporting a household of 10—family members and friends. Provide Hope Through Funding for Farming God’s Way
The biggest key to the success of Farming God’s Way is consistently maintaining and applying the principles to the plot of land. This takes time, effort and good management. We have seen tremendous success in the Chilenje area because they have been faithful and are embracing their training from FTS. The funding for this project will be used to mobilize several FTS workers to continue in training, demonstrating, coaching and discipling groups and consistently following up to ensure success. Without good management, the crops will not thrive and the church and community members will not become proficient in this method to support eventual sustainability. Read More
